Company Profile

1. Our name

Colour Vision Deficiency Correction Ltd.

2. Company History

The research history of the Company's products goes back to 1986 when two Hungarian optical engineers (Dr. Ábrahám György és Dr. Wenzel Klára), expertise in color science, dared to question the ophthalmologists' dogma on the reason of Color Vision Deficiency. At an the early stage researches have limited only to students' scientific work and preparation of diplomas.

MD's would blame the lack of sensitivity of color receptor in the eye for deficient color perception. Our scientists came up with the idea that Color Vision Deficiency can be caused by a decrease and/or a shift in the sensitivity to colors, as explained in the "about Color Vision Deficiency".

During the Basic Research of Color Vision Deficiency they have applied mathematical models for simulating human eyes, developed special equipment and diagnostic techniques to analyze Color Vision Deficiency. 600 test people were involved in the diagnostic tests.

In 1993 the two optical engineers have patented the Color Vision Deficiency enhancing lenses and in 1995 they patent diagnostic equipment. The significant cost of patents were supported by the Hungarian Patent Office.

In 1998 the First Hungary Fund has fined attractive the results of researches and patent extended over almost the whole world and incorporated Coloryte The First Hungary Fund provided financial background to the further researches. The most talented students were employed by Coloryte after finishing their university studies.

The Color Vision Deficiency improving lens and the PDT diagnostic equipment have been developed to a marketable product. The clinical test of the lenses, involving an American company, ended successfully (CRO, Clinical Research Organisation).

Unfortunately, the mandate of the fund expired in the end of 2003 and as Coloryte can not turn to profitable the First Hungarian Fund has liquidate Coloryte.

In July 2003 we fund Colorlite Ltd to manufacture and develop Color Vision Deficiency improving lenses.
